DIY Conversation Heart Wall Hanging for Valentines Day

Today was a sad day for me as we finally took down all of the Christmas decorations. The place just seemed so blah without any kind of festive decor. I didn’t have anything else to do today so I decided to make these for Valentines day!

What you’ll need:

  • 4 wooden hearts
  • paint
  • 3 feet of 1 1/2″ thick ribbon, 30 inches of 1 1/2″ thick ribbon, 6 inches of 1 1/12″ thick ribbon
  • hot glue
  • sandpaper

Sand the edges of the wood so they’re smooth.

Paint the hearts at least two coats.

Choose whatever sayings you want. You can even put names instead of sayings if you’d like. Once everything is dry, I used an X-Acto knife to clean the edges of some of the wordings.

Plug in your glue gun and gather your supplies. With the 6″ ribbon, fold it twice and tie it into a knot.

Glue the 3 foot long ribbon right down the center. Separate each heart by 4 inches and continue gluing til the last heart.

Make sure the ribbon is glued on good because it can get heavy while hung.

Lay out your 30 inch ribbon, gather the middle, hold it together with the knotted ribbon and glue together.

The tails of your bow probably won’t be exactly the same length. Hold the knot of the bow above the center to make sure it’s even and then glue the tails into place. This is what you are really going to want to make sure is glued on very well!

Once everything has cooled down and set, find a spot to hang your new work of art!
